Interesting !!! – BONGAIGAON The name is said to have derived from Bon (wild) Gai (Cows) and Gao (village). The nearby forests had a large population of wild cows which would come to the village and destroy the crops. Thus this area came to have its name of Bon-Gai-Gaon. Kamakhya Temple , one of the shaktipeethas is a must visit while staying in Guwahati. It is one of a kind and has been the seat of the powerful tantrik cult in India. A cruise on the mighty Brahmaputra ends the trip with nostalgic memories.
