GUWAHATI, known as the largest city of North-East India is quite famous for KAMAKHYA TEMPLE (One of the Shaktipeeth temples) and also popular for the Mighty BRAHMAPUTRA RIVER
TURA which is about 50kms from the National Border of Bangladesh is situated in the western part of Meghalaya.
SIJU CAVES, in the Garo Hills, is a beautiful view from Tura and is one of the longest caves in India and might be the longest in Asia as well because to date nobody has ever reached the end of this cave. It is said that it should not be accessed without LOCAL help as the place is a remote area with almost no network and houses hundreds of bats!! Hence known as “dabokhol” (it means bat cave in local language)
LIVING BRIDGES ROOT!!! The double-decker and single-decker root bridges of Meghalaya are unique in the world and are a sight to behold. The bridges are tangles of huge thick roots, mixed together to create a bridge that can accommodate many people at a time.
Manas National Park in Assam is a UNESCO Natural World Heritage Site, a tiger and It is said to be deemed as a safe shelter for several rare and endangered species
An ideal destination to visit for its Tiger Reserve, Elephant Reserve, Biosphere Reserve, National Park, and also a Wildlife Sanctuary. Manas National Park is open all year round and the best time to visit the park is between the months of November to April.
Nokrek is then said to be the highest peak in Garo Hills and home to different species of wild animals including Elephants and Hoolock Gibbons.

Interesting!!! – The Manas River also serves as an international border dividing India and Bhutan. It is a major tributary of Brahmaputra River. Nokrek hill is the home of a very rare species of citrus locally known as Memang Narang orange of the spirits.

Siju caves

Siju caves, in the garo hills, accessed from tura, is one of the longest caves in India and might be the longest in the Asia as well because till date nobody has ever reached the end of this cave. Before You Go

To visit MEGHALAYA no entry permits are required for Indians or foreigners.
Permits for safari: The park safaris should be booked in advance and photo ID proof {passport copy (overseas and Indian Nationals), voters ID, Pan Card, driving license} is required to book the safaris. Different charges apply for Indian national and Foreign nationals.
Do carry comfortable footwear and clothing which will blend with nature. Traveling with toddlers and infants is not recommended as safari should be the least noisy activity for the best experience!
