Whether you’re interested in exploring wildlife, local culture, or scenic landscapes, this tour is designed for travelers who want a complete Assam experience.
Start your journey in Guwahati, Assam’s largest city and a gateway to the Northeast. Upon arrival, you’ll be transferred to your hotel. In the evening, enjoy a scenic Brahmaputra River cruise, soaking in the sunset views over one of India’s most iconic rivers.
On day 2, visit the revered Kamakhya Temple, one of the most important pilgrimage sites in India. The temple is perched on Nilachal Hill and offers breathtaking views of Guwahati. Afterward, head to Umananda Island, the smallest inhabited river island in the world, accessible by a short ferry ride.
After breakfast, drive to Kaziranga National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site known for its population of one-horned rhinoceroses. Check into your hotel and prepare for a thrilling afternoon jeep safari through the park. You’ll have the opportunity to spot rhinos, elephants, and a variety of bird species.
On day 4, enjoy a full day at Kaziranga National Park. Begin with an early morning elephant safari in the central range of the park. After breakfast, continue with another jeep safari in the western range, which is known for its rich wildlife diversity, including tigers, elephants, and deer.
On day 5, visit Majuli Island, the world’s largest river island located on the Brahmaputra River. Majuli is a center of Assamese culture and home to several Vaishnavite monasteries. Explore traditional Mishing tribal villages and enjoy the peaceful ambiance of this island.
On day 6, take an excursion to Sivasagar, the former capital of the powerful Ahom Kingdom. Visit ancient temples and monuments like the Rang Ghar, Talatal Ghar, and Sivadol Temple, which showcase the architectural brilliance of the Ahom era.
On the final day, after breakfast, you will be transferred back to Guwahati for your departure. If time permits, visit the local markets to shop for souvenirs, including Assam tea, handicrafts, and local silk.
