  • Kohima, the land of the Angami Naga tribe and the hilly capital of India’s northeastern border state of Nagaland which shares its borders with Burma.
  • Kohima is also known for its large cemetery known as the War Cemetery in Kohima for the Allied war dead maintained by the Commonwealth War Graves Commission.
  • Nagaland’s beautiful village, Tuophema, a tiny village on a hilltop with a panoramic view, carpeted with greenery.
  • In a technology-driven world, experience a pleasant reminder of unconventional living in the times of being bogged down amidst concrete forests, greenery, and the vast expanse of the mountains.

Interesting!!! Conveniently located at only 15 km south of Kohima, JAPFU offers a tough yet scenic climb for the more adventurous. The famous rhododendron tree, which is around 130 ft tall with an 11 ft girth, is situated at this peak. This tree is registered in the Guinness Book of World Records !

Kohima

Kohima is now home for all the Nagas because of its administrative status. War Cemetery is a historic site, which reminds of the brave warriors, who died during the Japanese Invasion at the time of World War II. This cemetery comprises around 1420 commonwealth funerals, which have stone markers on them

Tuophema

Tuophema, at about 41kms from Kohima, is promoted as the ancient heritage village by the state government. This village is known for its calm and beautiful surroundings, which attracts many visitors. Tuophema presents a different perspective of the social system of the nagas and offers a beautiful ambience as of the ancient village charm.
