Your journey starts in Guwahati, the gateway to Assam and Northeast India. After arriving at the airport or railway station, you’ll be transferred to your hotel. In the evening, enjoy a relaxing Brahmaputra River cruise, where you can witness the stunning sunset and take in the serene beauty of the Brahmaputra River.
On day 2, visit the sacred Kamakhya Temple, one of India’s most important Hindu pilgrimage sites. Located on Nilachal Hill, the temple offers breathtaking views of the surrounding city and river. Afterward, visit Umananda Island, the world’s smallest inhabited river island, accessible via ferry ride on the Brahmaputra River.
On day 3, head to Sualkuchi, the famous silk-weaving village often referred to as the Manchester of the East. Explore traditional silk weaving workshops where Assam’s famous Muga silk is produced. Witness the intricate craftsmanship and shop for beautiful silk sarees and garments.
On day 4, travel to Kaziranga National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site renowned for its population of one-horned rhinoceroses. Day 5 is dedicated to exploring Kaziranga National Park. Start your day with an early morning elephant safari in the park’s central range. After breakfast, head out for a second jeep safari in the western range. Experience the diverse landscapes of Kaziranga, from grasslands to wetlands, and spot rare wildlife.
On day 6, visit the cultural heart of Assam, Majuli Island, the largest river island in the world. Situated on the Brahmaputra River, Majuli is known for its Vaishnavite monasteries and unique tribal culture.
