ALL THROUGH THE YEAR EXCEPT DURING MONSOON (JUNE TO SEPTEMBER). Mizoram witnesses three seasons- summer, winter and monsoon. However, extreme temperatures are not observed in any of the seasons]. Winter is the best time to explore the state. It is advised not to visit the place during monsoons as rain restricts outdoor activities and adventures.

  • The BORDER TRADE CENTER, Located a mere 28 km from the border gates at Zokhawthar caters to the needs of the hilly North-Eastern state of Mizoram and the bordering Chin State in Myanmar
  •  Founded by the great Zahau Chief, Nikuala in 1887, CHAWNGTLAI VILLAG. There are a number of Historical Sites and Artifacts in this village and its surrounding areas. The flower Chawngtlai is found in abundance. The villagers have been making efforts to make Chawngtlai Village a Flower Village
  • Rih Lake or RIH DIL as it is locally called is the largest lake in Mizoram but is situated in Myanmar. It is called as the legendary lake and is believed to have been the inevitable passage that spirits of the dead crossed on their way to their future abode known as Mitthi Khua. 
  • TAM DIL is the largest lake in the state of Mizoram. It is a human-made lake exclusively to serve as a natural attraction for the state’s tourism. One can boat in the Lake, walk around its shores or just spread a carpet, lie down and read a book- there are one too many ways to spend some enjoyable time at the lake.
  • REIEK TLANG, situated at 1600 meters,  is one of the highest hills of Mizoram. Reiek Tlang provides its visitors with an opportunity for trekking with the backdrop of sceneries borrowed from the Mizo Hills
  • In this village, the tallest monolith (about 25 ft) was erected. The Lungsen, a red-colored rock that is believed to be a fortune-telling rock, is among the many interesting places to visit.
  • Walk to the KHAWH PAWP – a beautiful waterfall created by the pressure of the water on a rock that creates a gigantic hole in the cliff and thus a waterfall.

Interesting!!! – RIH LAKE or RIH DIL is the largest lake in Mizoram, but is actually situated Myanmar ! It is situated at a distance of about two miles from Tiau which is the boundary river between Mizoram (India) and Myanmar, and is within the village area of Rihkhawdar in Myanmar. The legendary lake is believed to have been the inevitable passage that spirits of the dead crossed on their way to their future abode known as Mitthi Khua. Some even believed it was the final abode of the spirits and is hence haunted by dead spirits !!!

Kaziranga declared as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1985 for its unique natural environment .It is inhabited by the world’s largest population of one-horned rhinoceroses, as well as many mammals, including tigers, elephants, panthers and bears, and thousands of birds.
