Start your Assam journey in Guwahati, the largest city of Assam, known as the gateway to Northeast India. Upon arrival, you will be welcomed and transferred to your hotel. In the evening, enjoy a peaceful Brahmaputra River cruise, where you can witness the majestic sunset and relax with the scenic beauty.
On day 2, explore the spiritual side of Assam by visiting the Kamakhya Temple, one of the most revered Hindu pilgrimage sites in India. Perched on Nilachal Hill, the temple offers stunning views of the Brahmaputra River. After the temple visit, enjoy a ferry ride to Umananda Island, the world’s smallest inhabited river island, known for its tranquil atmosphere.
On day 3, embark on a journey to the world-renowned Kaziranga National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Known for its population of one-horned rhinoceroses, Kaziranga is home to a wide variety of wildlife, including tigers, elephants, and exotic bird species. Enjoy a thrilling jeep safari in the park.
Spend a full day exploring Kaziranga National Park. Begin your day with an early morning elephant safari in the central range of the park, and continue with an afternoon jeep safari in the western range. Kaziranga’s diverse landscapes, from grasslands to swamps, offer the perfect backdrop for spotting wildlife.
On day 5, head to Majuli Island, the largest river island in the world. Located on the Brahmaputra River, Majuli is known for its rich cultural heritage, Vaishnavite monasteries, and traditional tribal villages. Visit the Satras (Vaishnavite monasteries), interact with the Mishing tribal community, and explore the serene landscapes of this cultural hub.
On the final day of your Assam tour, visit one of Assam’s famous tea gardens, where you can learn about the tea-making process and taste some of Assam’s finest tea. After your tea garden visit, you’ll return to Guwahati for your departure, with time for some last-minute shopping in the local markets.
