  • Miao is a sub-division in Changlang district and it is located about 25 km from the Assam border. It is one of the 60 constituencies of Arunachal Pradesh. It is said to be a great place for trekking and hiking in the dense forest and angling on the river Noa-Dehing.
  • Tinsukia is a city in Assam and is situated 480 kilometers north-east of Guwahati and 84 kilometers away from the border with Arunachal Pradesh.
  • Tinsukia is the economic capital of Assam and it is the main business center of upper Assam. This city is famous for its endless stretches of tea gardens, which are very pleasing to the eyes.
  • Dibrugarh is a city located in the Eastern part of Assam, the main urban center within the tea-growing districts of  Northeast India. Dibrugarh is known as the Tea City of India.
  • Known as the home of rarely found White-winged wood duck, DIBRU SAIKHOWA NATIONAL PARK is famous for being one of the best bird-watching spots around.
  • Miao Namdapha National Park: Park is India’s largest protected area. Seven non-human primate species like Stump-tailed macaque and Slow Loris, Hoolock Gibbons, Capped Langurs, Assamese Macaques, and Macaques Rhesus. These animals are usually rare to see in common places and tourists have to make a lot of effort on a successful safari trip
  • Thai Phakial, Dibrugarh: People here migrated in the 18th century from Thailand to Assam, they speak Thai. They continue to pursue their traditional culture even during modern times.

Interesting !!! – Arunachal Pradesh finds mention in the Kalika Purana and in the epics of Mahabharata and Ramayana. It is believed that sage Vyas meditated here. DIBRU SAIKHOWA NATIONAL PARK is home to feral horses that were either left behind or had escaped from army camps during World War II.

Saikhowa National Park

Dibru  Saikhowa National Park: Semi Wild (feral) Horses and white- winged Wood Duck are a rare glimpse at the park. More than 250 varieties of local and migratory birds are also found here

Dibrugarh

Dibrugarh is considered as the major producer of tea in Assam. Silk being the specialty of Assam, one can find a market that sells garments of silk in Dibrugarh. Bihu festival is the most important and widely celebrated festival of the state of Assam and Dibrugarh also celebrates this festival with fun and enthusiasm. There are in particular three Bihu festivals in a year but the most colorful out of these three Bihu festivals is the “Bohag Bihu” which is celebrated in the month of April.
Dehing patkai festival in January is the ‘tea fest’ of Dibrugarh and is celebrated near the banks of dehing river.
