This is a combination of cultural and wildlife experience of Assam with the tribal culture of Nagaland.
Kohima, the land of Angami Naga tribe and the hilly capital of India’s northeastern border state of Nagaland which shares its borders with Burma
Mon is a cultural paradise, land of the Angus, and home to KonyakNagas who were once relentless head hunters. The Konyaks are also known for their tattooed faces, blackened teeth, and headhunting prowess, the last thankfully being in the past.
MOKUKCHUNG is called the home of Ao Nagas which is known for its heartwarming hospitality.
LONGWA is one of the biggest villages in Mon district which is located 42 km from the main Mon town at the Myanmarese border where Villagers do not need a visa to move around freely to Myanmar. It is said that Even a village chief’s son has joined the Myanmarese army. Technically, the villagers of Longwa have dual citizenship- one for India and another for Myanmar.
GUWAHATI, known as the largest city of North-East India is quite famous for KAMAKHYA TEMPLE (One of the Shaktipeeth temples) and also popular for the Mighty BRAHMAPUTRA RIVER.
JORHAT is known as the tea capital of India is used as access to visit.
The river island of MAJULI, which is the world’s largest river island which is just 20 km away from this town and it can be accessed by ferries from NimatiGhat
Sibsagar is a mighty dynasty of rulers known as the Ahoms (Tai) reigned. It is said that rising on the periphery of a large 129-acre artificial tank called the Sibsagar Lake (which had given the town its name), are the archaeological remains, palaces, and temples of the Ahoms, now being preserved as nationally protected monuments.
For those of you who have thought Indian one-horned rhinoceros only existed in Jurassic-era, then a trip to Kaziranga must be in your travel list. Kaziranga National park’s 430 square kilometer area showered with swampy lagoons, elephant-grass meadows, and dense forests are home to more than 2200 Indian one-horned rhinoceros, approximately 2/3rd of their total world population.

Interesting!!! One of the largest villages of Mon district, LONGWA is a highly interesting place. The Angh’s (Chief) house here lies half in India half in Myanmar. Even though the village lies in two countries, the entire village is ruled by the chief.

Kohima

Kohima is now home for all the Nagas because of its administrative status. War Cemetery is a historic site, which reminds of the brave warriors, who died during the Japanese Invasion at the time of World War II. This cemetery comprises around 1420 commonwealth funerals, which have stone markers on them

Tuophema

Tuophema , at about 41kms from Kohima , is promoted as the Ancient Heritage Village by the state Government. This village is known for its calm and beautiful surroundings, which attracts many visitors. Tuophema presents a different perspective of social system of the Nagas and offers a beautiful ambience as of the ancient village charm.

Before You Go

An Inner Line Permit (ILP) is required for Indian (Domestic) tourists entry into Nagaland.
Foreigners must, however, register themselves at the Foreigner Registration Office (District Superintendent of Police) within 24 hours of entry to each state. In addition, the permit exemption doesn’t apply to citizens of specified countries, including Pakistan, Bangladesh, and China, who continue to require prior approval of the Ministry of Home Affairs before their visit.
No permits are required to visit Assam.
Carry adequate cash in Indian currency as ATMs might not be available in remote areas

Day 1: Arrival at Dimapur
Upon arrival at Dimapur, you will be greeted and transferred to your hotel. Relax and enjoy a leisurely evening. Stay overnight in Dimapur.
Day 2: Dimapur to Kohima
After breakfast, drive to Kohima (2-3 hours). Upon arrival, check into your hotel and spend the rest of the day visiting Kohima War Cemetery, Kohima Cathedral, and the Naga Heritage Village. Overnight stay in Kohima.
Day 3: Kohima to Mon
After breakfast, head to Mon, the land of the Konyak Nagas (famous for their tattooed warriors). Visit the Konyak Village and explore its rich culture. Overnight stay in Mon.
Day 4: Mon to Mokokchung
After breakfast, drive to Mokokchung (3-4 hours), a major cultural center for the Ao Naga tribe. Explore the local market and interact with the locals. Overnight stay in Mokokchung.
Day 5: Mokokchung to Longwa
Drive to Longwa, a village on the India-Myanmar border. Experience the unique blend of cultures, as the village is divided between India and Myanmar. Visit the King’s Residence and explore the village. Overnight stay in Longwa.
Day 6: Longwa to Guwahati
Travel back to Guwahati, the largest city in Assam. After arrival, check into your hotel and relax for the evening. Overnight stay in Guwahati.

Day 10: Sibsagar to Majuli

Day 11: Majuli to Kaziranga
After breakfast, take a ferry ride back and proceed to Kaziranga National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Explore the park’s flora and fauna, and enjoy a jeep safari to spot the famous One-Horned Rhinoceros and other wildlife species. Overnight stay in Kaziranga.
Day 12: Kaziranga to Guwahati
After an early morning safari in Kaziranga, drive back to Guwahati. Relax and explore the local markets in the evening. Overnight stay in Guwahati.
Day 13: Departure from Guwahati
After breakfast, transfer to the Guwahati airport for your onward journey.

Best Time to Travel

Winter (October to March): The best time to explore Nagaland, Assam, and nearby states. The weather is pleasant, and you can also experience festivals like Hornbill Festival, Bushu Festival, and Yemshe Festival during this time.
Summer (April to June): Mild temperatures, perfect for sightseeing. However, it can get a little warm in the plains of Assam.
Monsoon (June to September): Not recommended due to heavy rainfall, which can hamper travel plans and outdoor activities.
